Byske river, Sweden. Part 3. Unnamed pool and Svaltholmforsen

In the morning, I arrived to the Droppaforsen parking, and started to fish the pool. There were no results. I noticed trail along the bank to the next river rapids downstream.

I walked that trail, and found some very beautiful, quiet, unnamed run.  The main current is on the opposite side. On the far side, i noticed fish splashes. This is going to be interesting.

Now, I faced big challenge, how to reach the fish.  Salmon were rising on the far side. There's no way I could cast on such distance with double handed rod. And even if I could, the line loop would catch trees on the bank. I needed some space behind, but there's forest everywhere.  The river is very deep, it's nearly waist-deep few meters from the bank. And I found the solution. There is underwater boulder. Barely visible on the photo, I marked it on the photo. If I will climb on that boulder, I can make cast to the opposite side, where the fish are.

I climbed on the boulder. It was a bit risky, because it's waist-deep water around, and it's going to be chest deep just a little bit further.  But, I nicely stand on top of the rock, and was able to made casts straight to the opposite side.

Fish ignored my offerings, but it was great casting excercise.

The next location I visited was Svaltholmforsen. It is next marked pool downstream after Droppaforsen. Scheme of it on the map:

From the parking short trail goes to the fishing site. There is a small cabin to hide from the rain.

Svaltholmforsen are very powerful rapids with deep pool between them. Current is very strong, on the left side there is back current. Fishing is convenient from rocks, without stepping to the water.

Also, it is a beautiful place for some photo session.
