Second meet with Mr Fat Brown from Białka

After my unsuccessful trip to Sweden, I returned to Poland, my second motherland. Białka Tatrzanska became my favorite destination in this year, and I decided to visit it again. I woke up at 3:00 , and at 4:40 was already fishing.

My primary gear was Winston Boron iii TH-MS 4wt, Airflo Scandi compact floating shooting head and long 11' leader.  No polyleaders, no sinktip, just straight tapered mono.  The water in Białka is very clear this time of year, and is fish able to see woolybugger swinging in the upper water column from 1,5 m deep hole.

Here it comes, wild Białka brown trout.

I caught a few on black woolybugger. Not a big fish, but nice entertainment. Then I crossed the river and started to fish the run, where I caught big brown month ago.  Olive zonker, same rod, same fly line. Cast diagonally downstream, swing the fly to the bank, strip.. Baaang!  There's something bigger on the other end. I had a deja vu. I think I lived this moment before, exactly in the same place.

The trout was strong, and made few jumps, splashing the water around. I brought it to the net. That's a fat brown from Białka.

I think i met you before. Exactly the same brown I caught and released month ago, in the same place. I believe in catch and release!  Thanks to this practice, we have a chance to catch the same fish over and over again through the season. Only handle it with care.

I was very happy! Big fat brown, second tame, the same river, the same run.

After that, I met some fellow fly fishermen and we had a short talk. I moved upstream to another nice run.

There's beautiful turquise "bath" of water, which looks like jacuzzi. It's full of trout.

I caught a few on the streamer, all were smaller, but colorful.

In the heat of the summer, it's very hot in the middle of the day. I don't like to fish on the bright sun. Also, the best fishing is in early hours from 4:00 to 9:00. So I decided to drive home.

On the way back I stopped on Dunajec river. I didn't catch anything there, but found a group of nuns enjoying the river.  Very charming.
I think it was my best and most productive trip to Białka so far.
