Trout season opening 2019, Skawa. No fish, just swans.
1st of February was quite warm sunny day. Air temperature +5 C. Water level 110 cm, flow 6,5 m3/s.
I arrived to Skawa river at noon, to catch warmest part of the day.
Tried everything - streamer, nymph, and dry fly. There wasn't any takes, not even nips on the fly.
But even if I'm not catching fish, I enjoy day spent on the water. Watching wildlife is a part of experience. That's a beauty of fly fishing.
Typical trout holding water. But where's trout?
There was mayflies hatching. No fish activity, but I tried to cast dry fly - just for the sake of it.
My new "toy" - Epic 580 glass rod, and Finearts fly reel.
