Small river, small fish

On weekend, I traveled to Głucholazy, small town near the border of Poland and Czech republic.
There's river in the town, called Biała Głucholaska. It comes from Czech republic, and enters Nysa Kłodzka in Poland.  Fishing was not purpose of this trip. My goal was orienteering competition in Głucholazy. But I took my fly fishing gear, to explore local river in free time.

The river is very photogenic. The bottom composed from find gravel, cobblestones and sand. Generally, river is shallow and average water level is beyond the knees. Only in occasional deep holes it is above 1,5 meters. Level at Głucholazy was 54 cm, flow 6 m3/s, temperature 14,5 C.

I heard there's a lot of graylings in this river. I rigged my rod with small nymphs, which are very good for them.  Very soon I got 3 graylings , immediatelly at first run I fished. There's definitely many of them. Unfortunately, all fish were small.

I found one deeper spot, which looked like a home for bigger fish.  A waist-deep hole behind the rapids.   I pulled another couple of small graylings from there.

Fortunately, I got something bigger. What's that? Silver fish with orange fins.... not grayling. It is chub! Nice chub.

This was the best fish for today. On small brown nymph with golden ribbing.

I walked down the river, and tried different spots. The river flows, surrounded by forest. Very beautiful area.

Most fish were caught near the rapids, where current creates  deeper pockets.

I also caught few small brown trouts. Looks like native wild trout.

In deep hole , I pulled couple of trout too. There was some bigger fish, but I lost it.

Also, couple of rainbow trout joined the company. Also, small as everything else in this river.

Resume: river looks very nice, but doesn't worth dedicated trip.  Good to spend time on occasion or family vacation.  I enjoyed time spent on the water.
